20世紀初期頃につくられたインディゴ染めリネン・スモック。マキニョンという家畜の仲買人などが着たBiaudeと呼ばれるものです。プルオーバータイプです。このインディゴの色が美しい目の詰まったプルプルの薄手リネン地はフレンチ・アンティーク・ワークウエアの象徴的な布の１つです。左右の胸にボタン留めのポケット。腰の左右に中にアクセスするためのスラッシュがあります。ネック周りにギャザーが入り、広い身幅で肩を落として着用するゆったりとしたシルエット。ボタンホールは手縫い。全体的には使用感はほとんどありませんが、右袖の裏側に擦れて色が薄くなった部分があります。採寸は平置きで広げて測っています。

An indigo-dyed linen smock made in the early 20th century. This piece is known as a Biaude, traditionally worn by maquignons—livestock dealers and traders. It features a pullover design.
The tightly woven, slightly springy lightweight linen with its beautiful indigo hue is one of the most iconic fabrics of French antique workwear.
There are buttoned pockets on both sides of the chest, and slash openings at the waist that allow access to garments worn underneath.
Gathering around the neckline creates a wide body and a relaxed silhouette with dropped shoulders.
The buttonholes are hand-stitched.
